There is no doubt in anyone's mind that Covid-19 has led to New Thinking in everything that we do. The world around will continue to evolve and adapt in coming Months and Years until we strike the New Normal. Not only will this affect how we work but also at a personal level, how we rest and play .
Pandemic impact has been far and wide-reaching and in many cases, quite extreme. World has suffered from high fatality rates, some businesses have collapsed due to the “cliff-edge” effect, families divided due to travel restrictions etc. On top of all this, there is the uncertainty about what the future looks like.
On the flip side however, it has offered an opportunity for us to reflect and adapt. It has also allowed many of us to be better connected, albeit digitally. Some of us are spending more time with our families Of course everyone misses out on the physical face to face connection but nonetheless we are still connected. Just imagine what life would have been like without the digital connection which we all take for granted these days.
For the fortunate ones, who have been able to maintain business continuity throughout, it has been an opportunity to refine their business models to not only adapt to the changing world, but also build more resilience and efficiency into the process to become stronger and get ready for the New Normal.
So could Working from Home be the New Normal? Well, only time will tell but it is certainly not outside the bounds of reality. Indeed, large corporate Employers are undoubtedly supportive of that. As an added bonus, it will allow many of us to reduce our carbon footprint by travelling less and preserving our planet.
In summary, we had no control in the Pandemic impacting our lives. However, we do have control over adapting and hopefully shape a better Future and better Normal for all of us. It has become even more important to remember that we must not overlook our well-being and health in all of this. Staying focused and fit will be a bigger challenge than ever before.
