The Americas team recently gathered with the Executive team for an incredible summit in Cancun, Mexico. The retreat offered a unique opportunity to strengthen connections, celebrate successes, and strategize for the future while experiencing the rich culture and beauty of the Yucatán Peninsula. It was made even more special by the fact that we were also celebrating a major milestone, our 10th anniversary of operation!
Throughout the week, the team enjoyed several beautiful meals and beachside refreshments, fostering deeper connections and celebrating the informal, supportive culture that defines our group. It wasn’t just about team-building; it was about creating space for meaningful conversations and strategizing for the future in an extraordinary setting.
To kick off the adventures, we began with a productive meeting that gave our team time to look inward, brainstorming ways to strengthen our processes, not just for the present but for a future where rapid growth is inevitable. With a focus on company culture, we discussed refining both current and future workflows to ensure that FPC Global remains agile, inclusive, and efficient as it expands. The team left with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to embrace new challenges and opportunities ahead.
The itinerary was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. A standout experience was visiting the cenotes and ancient Mayan ruins, where team members marvelled at Mexico's breathtaking natural wonders. Kim Ferrari, our Global Head of Finance, in particular, had quite the adventurous day. While swimming through the caves of one cenote, she came, quite literally, face-to-face with a massive tarantula lurking above the dark waters as she emerged. Startled but determined, she powered through and made a swift escape, though she did suffer a minor injury in the process. After catching her breath, she powered through and gave a much-appreciated warning to those who would soon encounter her eight-legged "friend." Later that day, Kim conquered another fear by bravely jumping into a second cenote—earning her cheers and admiration from the team watching from below.
Another highlight was the team's visit to the famous Tulum Ruins. Overlooking the Caribbean Sea, the team visited the 'exclusive' Mayan seaside luxury market and discovered some fascinating history—yes, it was hot! The summit also brought out the team’s competitive spirit during a guacamole-making contest led by a Michelin-star chef, where Marshall took home the win, earning a sparkling lobster dinner.
The Cancun summit was a perfect reminder of the importance of coming together as a team, and everyone left feeling refreshed, inspired, and ready to tackle what’s next with a renewed sense of purpose. The memories made during this summit will undoubtedly fuel future success. Here's to the great experiences, and to even greater things to come!
