In the second week of October 2024, FPC’s India team gathered in the beautiful state of Kerala for an unforgettable team retreat. Surrounded by the lush landscapes of "God’s Own Country," the retreat brought together the entire India team, along with the leadership team, for a week filled with collaboration, creativity, and camaraderie.
The retreat marked a major milestone for the team. This in-person gathering offered a long-awaited opportunity for face-to-face interactions. The excitement was palpable as the team arrived at a serene beachfront resort, eager to connect. For some, it was the first time meeting with their colleagues in person, making these moments of connection all the more meaningful and the team strongly fostered team bonding.
The leadership team led insightful workshops, brainstorming sessions, and strategic discussions focused on FPC’s long-term vision. Team members from various departments collaborated, exchanged ideas to align their goals with the company’s future plan. And, of course, no retreat is complete without a touch of fun, and Kerala exceeded all expectations. After productive daytime sessions, the evenings were filled with laughter, relaxation, and entertainment. From the dance-offs to the mesmerising Kathakali performances, the team created lasting memories together.
A standout moment of the retreat was a team-building excursion to Kerala’s iconic backwaters. Cruising along the peaceful waters in houseboats, the team soaked in the natural beauty while savouring local cuisine.. These shared experiences strengthened bonds within the group. The retreat also embraced Kerala’s rich culture, traditional Sadhya meals served on banana leaves and an excursion to the region’s stunning Mangrove forests.
One of the most personal highlights for many team members was a midnight volleyball game played at the beach around 2 am—an experience that was both fun and memorable. During these evenings, team members shared their experiences with FPC , and hearing everyone’s stories added another layer of connection.
A key moment of the retreat was the celebration of FPC’s 10th anniversary. A special cake-cutting ceremony was held, and as part of the tradition in Hindu culture, Dean lit the auspicious lamp to symbolize the dispelling of darkness and the welcoming of knowledge, wisdom, and prosperity. This gesture honored the leadership team, and Dean, along with Gary, Vivek, Rachel, and James, shared heartfelt reflections on FPC's journey and their vision for the future. Fun moments followed, including some challenging questions posed by Sucheta, which brought laughter and joy, further highlighting the close-knit, supportive community within FPC.
The retreat also featured a visit to a prestigious temple and palace, offering a beautiful, rich and cultural experience that added a deeper sense of connection to the local environment. Throughout the week, the balance between learning and leisure made for an enriching experience that left everyone feeling motivated and inspired.
As the retreat drew to a close, the India team and leadership left Kerala not only with fond memories but also a renewed sense of purpose. The week had united them, providing both personal and professional purpose,, and they returned ready to embrace new challenges and opportunities in the months ahead.
This retreat in Kerala will be remembered as a defining moment for FPC, where work, culture, and fun seamlessly came together in paradise. Here’s to the exciting journey that lies ahead for the team and the company
