This month, we sat down with Rashi Parihar for our employee spotlight. Rashi joined FPC over a year ago with a skillset and experience that aligns perfectly with the client program to which she has been a key contributor.  It has been a great pleasure to work with Rashi. She is extremely professional in all facets of her work by communicating clearly and effectively with her peers and clients and by maintaining a high level of ownership and accountability for her work. She has quickly become a trustworthy and dependable member of the team.

What unique aspect of FPC's work culture or values do you find most inspiring or beneficial to your professional growth?

With 15 years of industry experience, I deeply value the importance of a positive work culture for both well-being and professional growth. I have been fortunate to work with various employers who provided supportive environments. At FPC, several aspects of the work culture stand out. Can you share a memorable moment from your career that taught you a valuable lesson?

In my career journey thus far, I've learned countless lessons, and every day brings new opportunities for growth and learning. But one thing that stands out is just how crucial communication is in every aspect. Whether it's within the team, with clients, or across departments, keeping those lines open and clear makes all the difference. It's been a constant reminder that effective communication truly is the backbone of success in any endeavor.

As a Digital Buildings & IoT Consultant Engineer, what innovative technology or solution have you recently found most exciting, and how do you see it shaping the future of smart buildings?

I found the integration of IoT sensor networks with cloud-based cybersecurity solutions particularly intriguing. This integration not only enhances security but also promotes sustainability in building systems. By combining real-time data analysis with robust cybersecurity measures, building operators can ensure both the safety and environmental responsibility of their systems, paving the way for smarter and more sustainable buildings.

If I were to create a playlist that reflects my work style, I'd include 'Titanium' by Sia, 'Pocketful of Sunshine' by Natasha Bedingfield, and 'Ek Zindagi Meri' by Piyush Tiwari. These songs inspire me to stay resilient, positive, and motivated in the face of challenges, reflecting the energy and determination I bring to my work.

Share a project or accomplishment that you're particularly proud of, and the lessons you've taken away from it.

Every project presents unique learning opportunities. One particularly memorable instance was supporting the pre-sales team with a bid proposal at Honeywell. Despite facing an exceedingly tight timeline, our team demonstrated remarkable cohesion and dedication to meet the deadline. The culmination of our efforts was the successful awarding of the project to Honeywell, signifying a significant triumph. This experience underscored the importance of teamwork, resilience, and perseverance in navigating demanding situations and achieving desired outcomes.

What’s your go-to method for staying motivated and productive during challenging times at work?

I rely on setting clear goals and establishing a structured routine to maintain productivity. Regular breaks and staying organized also help me stay motivated and on track to accomplish tasks efficiently.

If you had to describe your leadership style using a movie title, what would it be and why?

It would be "The Intern": Much like Jules Ostin, I lead with humility, openness, and a willingness to learn from others, fostering a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and continuous growth to drive success and innovation.

Tell us about a work challenge that seemed insurmountable at first, but you ultimately conquered. How did you approach it, and what did you learn from the experience?

I encountered a significant coordination challenge related to onsite network issues. Initially, the complexity of the situation seemed insurmountable. However, I approached it methodically by actively engaging with the responsible stakeholders for resolution. Additionally, I took the initiative to educate the project team about the actual stakeholders tasked with addressing the network issue. Through effective communication and collaboration, including escalation to the project manager and fostering internal team communication, we successfully resolved the issue. This experience underscored the importance of proactive stakeholder engagement, clear communication, and teamwork in overcoming seemingly formidable challenges.
